Why We Started TheCarez
Like most working parents, my wife and I have spent years piecing together childcare from whatever we could find — a recommendation from a neighbor, a referral through a friend, a contact passed along by someone we barely knew. With two kids, aged 9 and 4, and both of us working full-time, every gap in that chain meant a scramble: someone canceling last-minute, a background we couldn't really verify, or just the constant low-level anxiety of trusting our children to someone based on a two-line reference.
And it doesn't stop there. My parents are getting older, and I can't be with them through the day the way I'd like to — work doesn't allow for it. It's the same trust problem, just facing the other direction: who's checking in on them when I can't?
